Who said that dudes with guitars, basses and drums are dead and they’ve been replaced by synthesizers, laptops, and samplers? This year, however, might be an exception. You don’t have to search too hard to discover that 2014 was actually an incredible year for straight-ahead, guitar-toting songwriters and performers.

That’s why we wanted to take this opportunity to make a list of indie songs published in the last twelve months we liked most and certainly more times we have heard. In our December playlist you can find established artists like Beck, Cate le Bon, Brian Ferry, Lana del Rey or Spoon, but also a bunch of new groups entering strong in the music scene, as Lo-Fang, Mac Demarco, Vance Joy and Steve Gunn.

Boxer Union staff voted for their favourites of the year and now you can listen to the results.
