BOXER UNION PLAYLIST #15

BOXER UNION PLAYLIST #15

We continue honoring some of our favorite cities with our monthly playlists. After London and Los Angeles, now it’s time for New York. The city that never sleeps has inspired some of the best music ever written and recorded. From Sinatra’s New York, New York to Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind, songs about New York City span genres and generations. NYC has inspired odes to its majesty and danger, its punk vitality and all-embracing spirit.

New York is probably one of the most cosmopolitan and smart cities all around the world, a city perfectly identified with the spirit and DNA of Boxer Union. It hasn’t been easy to make a selection of 20 songs, but we have tried to cover as many possible music styles: pop (Elbow, Leonard Cohen), rock (Interpol, The Strokes), punk, (The Ramones, The Moldy Peaches), jazz (Dave Brubeck) ballads (Bruce Springsteen)… Hope you enjoy it.
